He gets clobbered when he has to throw his non moving fastball, that is just completely flat. Excellent off speed stuff which fools hitters, especially with that quirky motion, but if he falls behind and has to throw a fastball, hitters just sit on it.

We raved about his stuff earlier last year, and his stuff hasn’t changed. In a league where holds are rewarded, he is valuable. Just incredible stuff, and has the goods for a sub 2.00 ERA this year.

Kerry Wood

Injury risk conceded, Wood Has been close to his dominating self in the waning months of this season. His fastball has been clocked in the upper 90’s compared to the mid to lower 90’s when the season started. His fastball is exploding entering the strike zone. Will be a somewhat overlooked commodity heading into 2010. His stock rises if he gets off the Indians, then he really won’t be overlooked.

Carlos Marmol

Carlos Marmol always had number one reliever stuff, so being handed the closer’s role already for next year is not a surprise. He has the ability to save 45-50 games if the CUBS can hit enough to give him the lead. His stuff right now is electric.

Chris Perez

Chris Perez has a very live arm, and certainly is worth a flyer as a keeper for next year. he strikes out everyone and eventually will be their closer.
